Time flies when you are having fun. Organizing KOMraid 2019 was one such fun venture. KOMraid 2019 was a success because of the participants who enjoyed the tour. Here is what some of them had to say.
Dr. Avanti Biniwale: "I had an absolutely wonderful time climbing those wonderful ghats all in one trip. Cool weather good roads and no pollution! It was a pleasure meeting fellow cyclists and the stay arrangement s were great. Hope this event grows leaps and bounds every passing year and I can guarantee my participation. In fact I can rope in a few more colleague cyclists as well. Great trip and a superb holiday."
Ninad Patil: "The 3 day event was a very well organized. All the days were very aptly named with the challenges of the day. Looking forward for the upcoming events from the organizers."
Dr. Aditya Ponkshe: "Really well organized event, Nice group of riders. In the free evenings I suggest we have lectures/ talks or discussion on pre-decided topics relevant to cycling in for 1 hr or so."
Anuj Karkare: "Brutal, tough and exhilarating - KOMRaid '19 was one hell of a ride. Waking up at 5am, rolling down the ghats and climbing back up to set our personal best timings followed by sumptuous food and chatting with cyclists as crazy as you. Wonderfully and flawlessly organized. I plan to do this each year and hopefully raid a KOM one day!"
Dhanashree Bapat: "I am glad I signed up for KOMraid. Each day was a different challenge, a new ghat to explore, the beauty of the mountains & valleys, fresh air & cool atmosphere made it fun. Ambenali ghat which was 39kms climb really tested your endurance. It was fun riding & staying with the group. The food & accommodation was very comfortable. I would recommend this event for all cyclists who want to seriously practice their climbing skills."
Sharada: "This was my first cycling tour and I was very apprehensive about 3 days continuous cycling and that also in the ghats, but everything went well. Aditya Kelkar on the first day made sure I was not left behind alone and a big thanks to him. The second day was very long and tough and I was as usual slow but Upendra was patiently waiting for us(the last ones) after every few meters. That helped a lot. Everything was perfect. Looking forward to more such events."
